This IS about eDiscovery, we Promise!

Here’s another COVID tale for you. How many of these will there be?  Will we ever tire of them as long as they’re entertaining?

This one starts with a Mariachi band. Yes, we’re still talking eDiscovery.  Short story: client’s husband returns home from surgery.  Several weeks in the hospital.  No visitors.  Homegrown foodtruck shows up in driveway with BBQ.  Plenty of time to sauce the ribs.  No time to put C-TEQ sign on vehicle.  Co-workers assemble in cul-de-sac to celebrate homecoming.  Many have been stuck at home for 10 weeks. First good meal since lockdown.  To spice things up, Mariachi Band squeals around the corner.  Trumpets blaring, guitars strumming, cheap choreography and costumes. They leave as fast as they came. Who were those guys?  Nobody knows, but it led to a new problem.  Or, should I say, solution.

Pork plant.  Southern Minnesota.  Lots of COVID.  Data collection needed.  ACLU.  Spanish speaking custodian.  Limited window of time.

Solution: turn food truck into mobile collection unit. (Scrub out BBQ sauce first.)  Meet in public park (by the big oak tree).  Set up tent.  Bring portable AC power.  Unexpected circumstances: 100 degrees that day (hot for a humid state).  60 mph winds.  Tent didn’t work.  Power still good.  Lots and lots of cold drinks.  Collection a success.  Translator did a great job.  With a little creativity, no problem is too daunting.
